Magnificent Mykonos

WOW! why did I leave it for 36 years ?(shhh, keep it quiet) Ok well, I was’nt in control of my life/finances until I was 18 and I’m just about in control now.  I knew I loved Greece from my travels to Kefalonia, Rhodes and Crete. Mykonos you were just everything and more!
My first hotel was the indullgent Kivotos boutique hotel in Ornos bay, a 5 minute cab ride from Mykonos town. (in normal cab speed 12 minutes, but the crazy driving here is all part of the charm and experience!)
A gorgeous superfriendly intimate hotel, apparently frequented by Donatello and Shakira! We were handed Moet & Chandon on arrival, (first impression NAILED!!) I’m still dreaming about the Gin cocktail by the pool. After two days here and a free spa massage used, I was well and truly rid of any current stresses. (annual car insurance renewal, pre divorce proceedings, standard round of redundancies looming, the usual mix) it was time to move on to the Santa Marina hotel across the bay.
The Santa Marina was a much bigger complex immaculate and in my 17 years of globetrotting for a living, one of the Best hotels I have ever stayed in! Stunning views and facilities that was enjoyed and indulged to the max. The hotel now has a Buddha beach bar as part of the complex, a supercool chic bar overlooking the private beach. A really exciting new bar to visit on the island. Check it out for a spot of lunch or sundowners!
after a couple of drunken nights meandering the bars of Mykonos town, It was time to say “αντίο” ( thats Greek for goodbye/ See what I did there?) to Mykonos. Until (maybe July, subject to AMEX card bill) as I cannot wait to go back.
