Meritorious Artist Ha Thuy was born in Lao Cai City, Lao Cai Province. At the age of 17, the young girl was recruited into the Army Dance Troupe. At the same time, she received notice of admission to Hanoi National University of Education. However, passionate about music, she fought her thoughts and defended her passion by embarking on a career as a singer.
When joining the army dance troupe, Ha Thuy tried hard to study. She is somewhat at a disadvantage compared to her friends in the literary selection group because she has never studied singing and has never participated in vocal training sessions. However, she has a gift for sensitive music, so everything is easier.
After that, Ha Thuy passed military art middle school and always got good grades in all subjects for 4 years. After graduating, she returned to the university system at the Hanoi Conservatory of Music and was sent to study full-time, majoring in singing.
During her university studies here, Ha Thuy constantly participated in music competitions to rub shoulders and learn.
In 1982, she won second prize in a professional solo competition organized by the Ministry of Culture and Sports with the song “Mother’s Song”.
In 1983, she won a gold medal by participating in a light music and dance competition in Hai Phong.
In 1985 and 1987, she won the Army All Bachelors Silver Medal. 1987 is also the year she graduated from university with distinction.
After graduating, the little singer on that day made her voice heard in all parts of the country and received so much love from everyone.
In 1992, she taught vocal music at the Dance and Music Department of the Lycée des Arts Militaires. With the enthusiasm of a teacher, she has guided many students to leave their mark on the Vietnamese music market.
