Joe Rogan commended Meta Platforms CEO Mark Zuckerberg on Wednesday’s episode of The Joe Rogan Experience for winning his inaugural Jiu-Jitsu match and they had an approximately three-hour conversation about martial arts and business matters.
Zuckerberg recently revealed his use of jiu-jitsu as a means of relieving stress. Additionally, he discussed feeling like his daily dose of negativity is “punching him in the stomach”.
Joe Rogan, host of an internationally popular podcast, asked Mark Zuckerberg if it felt “weird” to run social media sites for billions of people. While managing such immense pressure can be daunting, and may sometimes leave him in an emotional place, to combat that pressure he tries balancing it by taking in information before doing something physical for an hour or two (such as Jujitsu as it has something “primal”) which allows him to switch focus back onto work at hand – like taking in all information before doing something physical like taking in all information then doing something physical – especially like Jujitsu as it offers something “primal”.
Facebook has long been at the center of controversy, being accused of breaching user privacy and disseminating political misinformation during elections, while also contributing to mental health issues among teen girls. Furthermore, its founder has testified before Congress and faced lawsuits from two twin brothers alleging he stole their idea for creating the site.
Google keeps exploring new technology areas such as virtual and augmented reality, making its moves noteworthy as one of the world’s most influential tech firms – its choices can rewire how billions interact and shape other tech titans’ strategies – but its constant experimentation raises questions as to whether this company is an overstuffed mess that cannot fail or an innovation-generating machine bringing forth brilliant new products or ideas that may one day lead to something truly revolutionary.
Meta
Meta is the new name of a company dedicated to virtual reality and the “metaverse.” This change marks a shift for Meta away from integrating its services with Facebook. Furthermore, they have also begun testing immersive experiences on other devices such as smartphones.
Mark Zuckerberg was masterful at dodging uncomfortable facts and shifting blame in his three-hour appearance on Joe Rogan Experience podcast. This tactic has long been employed by Big Tech CEOs to deflect accusations that their services undermine democracy and diminish personal well-being.
Zuckerberg revealed his passion for Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu on the show and was surprised when he competed in a recent tournament, winning two medals to show that his hard work paid off. Additionally, he discussed plans for the future of VR.
Zuckerberg unpacked the meaning of Meta in a video accompanying its rebranding announcement, noting its Greek root “meta” means “after” or “beyond,” as well as being used synonymously for “superior.” According to him, Meta will create a platform which connects people together in real life by sharing experiences in virtual and augmented realities; users will also have an ability to create digital worlds using this platform.

The Future of Technology
Technology promises an exciting future. Advancements in artificial intelligence, the Internet of Things, virtual and augmented reality, blockchain technology, 5G networks and quantum computing are transforming lives every day; yet these advances also pose some risks; such as privacy concerns, security breaches and government surveillance as a result of these technological advancements.
Mark Zuckerberg, CEO of Facebook and Meta, appeared on Joe Rogan’s podcast to discuss upcoming VR headset for Facebook; his renewed love of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu; as well as the decision to limit reach of an article regarding Hunter Biden prior to 2020 presidential elections. Throughout their three hour conversation, Zuckerberg deftly avoided inconvenient facts while deflecting blame when questions regarding criticism of his company surfaced.
While many will continue to utilize social media and other technologies, their future may look quite different. Holograms and teleportation could become standard technologies in future platforms; enabling workers to work remotely while doctors consult patients using holograms. Furthermore, cars driven by holograms could potentially eliminate traffic congestion and lower energy costs in an efficient manner.
