Phillip Schofield can often be seen hosting Dancing on Ice and 5 Gold Rings during daytime television, in addition to hosting ITV’s This Morning (daily news and current affairs program). Additionally, he has appeared on a variety of other programs such as All Star Mr & Mrs and The Cube quiz show.
Phillip Schofield has been a presenter on ITV since August 2002 when he took over from Fern Britton as host of This Morning, becoming one of their daytime programs and also hosting several others such as Tonight news program.
After Schofield announced his departure from This Morning earlier this year, he later admitted to engaging in an affair with one of his younger colleagues – which rocked British television with its unflappable image and caused major disruption.

Phillip Schofield is best known as the longtime host of ITV’s This Morning and co-host of Dancing on Ice, and co-presenter of British Soap Awards. In 1985-1987 he gained prominence hosting Children’s BBC continuity presenting segments titled the ‘Broom Cupboard’ from 1985 -1987; later went on to host various programs such as Going Live!, This Morning, All Star Mr and Mrs and game show The Cube.
As host of Have I Been Here Before?, in which celebrities use regression therapy to connect with past lives. He later came out as gay and separated from his wife in 2020. Additionally, he hosted ITV royal wedding coverage as well as hosting Queen’s Diamond Jubilee coverage, plus covered Olympic coverage on ITV.
Holly Willoughby has reportedly held talks with ITV regarding taking over Phillip’s role on This Morning. ITV have indicated they will address his Dancing On Ice appearance ‘in due course’ while it has been suggested that Stephen Mulhern might replace Phil as Dancing On Ice host; Catchphrase host Stephen Mulhern temporarily filled in when Phil had to self-isolate due to contracting the Covid-19 virus last year; in addition, Stephen hosted In For a Penny and Ant and Dec’s Saturday Night Takeaway as well.

Phillip Schofield has become one of the most beloved personalities on British television. At 61 years old, he has hosted various programs for ITV – most notably This Morning since 2002, covering topics like news, fashion, health and cookery shows with huge followings. Additionally, This Morning offers cooking shows featuring various recipes.
Schofield has presented several popular series for ITV in addition to This Morning. He served as host of All Star Mr and Mrs for five years as well as hosting quiz show The Cube, as well as premiertime television program A Night of Heroes: The Sun Military Awards.

Presenter since 2002 on This Morning alongside Fern Britton and then Holly Willoughby, as well as Dancing on Ice and consumer show How to Spend It Well, Dax is also a regular host.
However, Phil hasn’t always had it easy. In 2022 he was heavily criticised for cutting in front of civilian patriotism that lined the streets to see Queen Elizabeth lying in state at Westminster Hall – this in contrast with celebrities such as David Beckham and Susanna Reid joining other similar lines to witness her visitation.
Despite this controversy, ITV has announced its plan not to hire Holly’s permanent co-presenters again: Craig Doyle, Dermot O’Leary, Josie Gibson and Alison Hammond will continue sharing her duties.
Schofield can also be seen hosting ITV game show 5 Gold Rings. Premiering in March 2017, this four-season show is based off of Dutch game show 5 Golden Rings that featured different themes each season; two were shot in Amsterdam while three others at BBC Elstree Centre near London.
