Dang Duong was born in 1974 in Duc Xuong Commune, Gia Loc District, Hai Duong. He goes by the surname Pham and has been musically gifted since he was a child. This is why Dang Duong’s parents let him study at the Hanoi Conservatory of Music at an early age.
Many people think that Dang Duong started singing at an early age. However, before becoming a singer, he completed ten years of lute training at the Hanoi Conservatory of Music.
While studying the lute, Dang Duong also studied singing but has not yet become a singer. It was not until 1998 that he first showed his talent as a singer in public.
He participated in the Student Singing Festival in 1998, singing in trio with Trong Tan and Viet Hoan, the song “The Way We Go” by Huy Du. Since then, the public has known three promising artists from the Vietnamese music scene.

Although the genre of music that Dang Duong pursues (classical and revolutionary music) does not match the tastes of today’s audiences, he remains faithful to it. He realizes that his voice really suits this genre.
His cautious personality made him strict in song selection. Even when performing red music, traditional music, he is extremely careful, not putting too many pauses in the song. Dang Duong believes that revolutionary music and classical music have very high standards, and if you want to renew them, you need to spend a lot of time thinking and thinking deeply.
Dang Duong himself also admits that he is an extremely difficult person in art. Each time he makes an album, he often finds an arranger himself, it takes a lot of time to choose the songs.
Even when recording, he’s not afraid to record again and again until he feels perfect. Perhaps having studied to be a lute player, Dang Duong’s level of music theory is considered quite high, which is reflected in his skillful musical arrangement on recording.
